Aracne

Ancient Threads, Eternal Splendor

Aracne is dedicated to reviving one of the most prestigious forms of craftsmanship: textile traditions, passed down orally from mother to daughter. Alongside, a study has been conducted on the patterns that adorn and make these fabrics unique: geometric or floral symbols that hold auspicious meanings, wishing fertility to brides, abundance in harvests, symbolizing justice, or simply representing beauty.
Aracne has also rediscovered ancient spinning techniques for broom fiber, silk, cotton, and linen. The association has revived the art of natural dyeing, using plants and flowers. The production of broom fiber follows an ancient process that involves several women and requires lengthy processing times. Silk production has been resumed through a small silkworm farm, yielding a few kilograms of yarn per year.
